The Story of Cygnus Watches

The story of Cygnus Watches began in the Arctic during the long, quiet days of isolation in Inuvik. Surrounded by stark landscapes and endless winter nights, Anders found himself drawn into the world of watches. What began as a way to pass the time grew into an obsession. He started collecting, then trading, and eventually set his mind to building something of his own.

The first Cygnus watch did not come from a factory, it was born on a workbench cluttered with tools, springs, and tiny screws. Anders ordered parts from across the globe: movements from Japan, cases from Europe, crystals from Asia. They arrived in small packages, each holding a promise. Piece by piece, he tinkered and tested, learning the quirks of every component until the design began to take shape. In 2024, that first watch came to life.

From the beginning, Anders approached design with intention. Every detail was chosen for a reason: the strength of stainless steel, the clarity of a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, full-lume bezels and hands, screw-down crowns, and bracelets with micro-adjustments. These were not afterthoughts—they were requirements. His vision was simple: create watches worth wearing and worth sharing, pieces that carry presence on the wrist.

After enjoying his own creations, Anders began taking them to local marketplaces, where they quickly caught the attention of buyers. Word spread, and a small but passionate following began to form of people eager for each new design. The demand was growing, and the next move became clear: it was time to make Cygnus accessible to the world.

To do that, Anders brought in his lifelong friend and e-commerce specialist Ben to turn his new obsession into a business. Born from a place of wanting to share his creations, the partnership brought together design passion and business know-how. With their diver and field watch series launching soon, Cygnus Watches now stands ready to offer aspirational yet attainable timepieces to a new wave of watch owners, earning respect from seasoned collectors while inspiring those buying their first or second serious watch.
